What can be done?

Many times teachers and staff at language schools believe that it's not worth joining the union, because nothing will change at their company. Well, the General Union has a proud history of making believers out of many people who didn't think that the General Union could achieve any improvements in working conditions.

Some also believe that it's best just to leave a bad employer. Well, we would argue that GABA can be just as good or bad as the employees allow it to be. Don't just quit, make GABA a decent place to work for you, your coworkers, and those who come next.

If you currently work at GABA and want a union, these are things that you should be doing:

DON'T start talking about the union at your workplace. Start by thinking of your closest coworkers and approach them about how they can help improve their working lives at GABA.

Start making a list of all your coworkers so that we know how many people are working at GABA and what schools they are at. Once we start organizing, it will be amazing how soon this information will dry up.

After you fill out the JOIN NOW information, you will get a call from the union. If you don't feel confident about doing anything yet, please wait for the union to contact you.
